COLD WELDING

Cold welding is a method of joining metals without the use of heat. It doesn’t include molten metal phase; the metal never melts; it exists in the solid state. Instead, pressure is used to apply the energy required to bind the metal. It must exert sufficient pressure to fuse two metals perfectly. It must therefore remove the coating from the metal for this reason, by cleaning the metal to remove the coating.
